Boyfriend abused my guinea pig. How can I make them better?
I had to leave town for a week and I let my boyfriend take my two guinea pigs. One of them is really shy. When I got back, they were both completely calm and not moving. I thought this was unusual because usually they are always squeaking and wanting food when I walk into the door. And when I try to pick them up, they aren’t afraid to back away if they want to be left alone. So I investigated further and found that one of them had her tooth broken off and could not squeak because her throat hurt from my boyfriend choking her. He beat her senseless and would punch, slap, choke and throw her all over the place. Now she is a completely distrusting guinea pig and is highly upset and visibly traumatized. The other one, though she did not have physical damage on her, is also distrusting. Needless to say, i broke up with him.

I really want them to be normal again. I want them to squeak when they want food, I want them to be interactive and I want them to be happy again. Is there anything I can do? This makes me so upset.

what a boyfriend. really. well first of all take them to the vet Pronto ! get them checked out… give them loads of their favorite treats and tonnes of love. File a report on animal abuse on your ex- boyfriend

Oh my God, that is horrible !!! I just can’t stand hearing about animal abuse ! That makes me sick. I hope you never, ever have anything to do with him again. Give them lots of love and see the vet…I really hope they are okay!

First off, hun, dump your boyfriend like a hot potato. What a jerk!! Animal abuse is sick and twisted.
I’d take them to the vet immediately, that’s the only way you can know what to do for sure.
